Before we go towards the north, we should at least mention that yesterday we saw Robbie Williams in Berlin. About 60000(?) other people watched the man get absolutely soaked in the rain, and give a what we thought was a very good performance. He really knows how to play the crowd, and interacts with it a lot – reading out signs aloud that were held up by people, making (friendly) jokes about them. One sign – written with a ball pen on A4 paper – said: “come to estonia” – Robbie: “I promise I go there if you spend more than just 5 seconds writing that sign”. Another sign said: “You did not come to Barcelona so I come me here” (or something like that). He was making fun of the English, but again I thought it was friendly enough, not condesending or anything. He seemed to have a ball, as did the rest of the crowd.
Having said all this, one important thing was definitely not up to standard, and that was the sound. Maybe it was because we were sitting quite high up to the side, but from where we were sitting we heard lots of base, and little voice. After a while though we got used to it I guess, and didn’t notice so much any more. So, all in all, it was definitely worth going.
